TicTac, part 2

After buying all those TicTac boxes, I needed to figure out what to do with the actual sweets. I wasn't going to eat all of them (there were just too many!) so where to put them? I stored them in an empty glass jar for the time being and had an idea.
I decorated the glass jar and the lid with tapes (tape from Tiger) and I made a little label for all the flavours.
Finally, I wrapped jar in brown paper, added some circus themed tape (also from Tiger) and a little matching card.
The jar and it's contents I gave away as a present for a little boy who just had his 6th birthday. His mom had already been saving me their empty boxes, so I knew he would love his little present.

TicTac, part 1

So, you might remember that getting my desk in order was on my list of unfinished projects. At first I couldn't really figure out how to get started on that. Then I found these photos, and was instantly inspired.
I'd been looking for a clever way to store all the little bits and bobs I need for my craftings.
So, the next time I went grocery shopping, I bought a few boxes of TicTacs too. I asked a friend, who's kids like Tictacs, to keep boxes for me too.
The bigger boxes were perfect for wider ribbons and big buttons and the little boxes for smaller items. My original plan was to store only ribbons in these, but then I had a thought of throwing in other little knick-knacks too.
I made ribbon cards for the wider ribbons and trims that couldn't be fitted in the boxes. I made the cards by gluing patterned paper on 185gsm craft card. The shape I cut out using a ribbon card I already had.
The perfect box to store all this in I got from work and was originally full of mini macarons. I used washi tape to cover the texts on the side and even though it still shines through, I don't really mind it.
Even though my ribbons aren't as cute and photos as pretty as the inspiration photos, I'm still quite pleased about how this turned out.

All in the details

When wrapping gifts or even just sealing an envelope, I like adding a little something-something. Decorative tape, stickers and ribbons are my absolute musts! Even the tiniest personal touch can transform presents into something completely new! Here's a few of my recent favourites.
For my little brother's 13th birthday, I made a card out of white scrap card, I drew the hat on and added a piece of moustache tape. The actual present I wrapped in white and black tissue paper and added tape to match the card.
This year's Easter cards (post and tutorial here) I handed out in white envelopes. I closed up all of them with a small strip of heart patterned tape. I used the same tape in the actual Easter cards too.
My Mother's Day cards have not been sent yet, (Mother's Day in Finland isn't until May) but here are their envelopes. The big red one is for the best mom there is and the smaller white for my dear grandma.
