I finally got around buying a new laptop this summer. My old one I'd had for over 4 years and it finally started showing signs of dying.. This time I went for smaller one, with an 11.6 inch screen. I absolutely love my new laptop and its super handy size.
Now that I have a more easy laptop to carry around with me, I figured a sleeve for it would be an absolute necessity.
At first I had a great vision for a leather sleeve with a zipper, so I started sewing. This was my first time sewing leather and let me tell you something -- I did not like it. Maybe I should have started with something easier, but since I'm not that smart, I got straight into it and failed. I wasn't happy with the result so I figured I'd do something else.
Luckily, I just happened to get a skein of Tuubi yarn from Novita, which is perfect for this kind of project. I crocheted this sleeve in 30 mins, using 8 mm crochet hook and about half the skein (500g per skein). This one is exactly the right size and I think it looks nice.
Second time is the charm!
Uudelle, pienemmälle läppärille piti saada kiva suojakotelo. Ensimmäinen yritys ommella nahkaa kuitenkin epäonnistui, jonka seurauksena virkkuukoukku pelasti tilanteen!
